Paris is a charming city, with its romantic and spectacular views, its picturesque cafes and its glamorous reputation, but it actually hides a dark face made of stories of murders, mysteries and curiosities.

During this visit, we will tell you about the murderous pastry chef and butcher of the Middle Ages who inspired the musical Sweeney Todd. We will also evoke the macabre fate of historical figures such as Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, the Dauphin Louis-Charles, the Count of Fersen and the Princess of Lamballe, all linked by the chains of misfortune.

About the guillotine, we will explore two deaths that horrified Paris during the Terror: that of the last favorite of King Louis XV, Madame du Barry, and that of the courageous Charlotte Corday, the woman who killed Jean-Paul Marat.

We will discover terrible events such as the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in the 16th century and legendary stories such as that of the red ghost that haunts Catherine de Medici in the Tuileries, who lived in an environment of prophecies and esotericism.

We will also learn why Parisians enjoyed visiting the dead at the morgue in the 19th century and the story of the only suicide inside Notre Dame. If you want to know the meaning of the gargoyles and chimeras in the cathedrals, the history of the city's cemeteries and everything that hides the "City of Lights", this tour is for you.
